To be accepted into the Pathway of Fame, Peterborough and District, the person or persons must first be nominated. Nominations come from the general public, a friend or possibly a family member of the eventual recipient.

The primary point to remember is the pathway process is not a ballot! One well-composed and informational nomination will accomplish the desired impression. The number of nominations received for any one individual or group does not have a bearing on the eventual choice. One will be chosen as representative for consideration by the Selection Committee.

However, it is imperative that a $10.00 Registration Fee accompany each nomination. Nominations are open and held from March 1st until April 30th in a given year. Following the May cut-off date, all nominations are photocopied and categorized and distributed to a Selection Committee. During the course of the year, 3 people are asked to act on the Selection Committee. They are autonomous of the Pathway’s Facilitating (or general) committee and are guaranteed anonymity during and after the process. Each member of the Selection Committee is supplied with all nominations to peruse and rate on an individual basis. The Committee members are then brought together as a group to decide the most deserving.

The Facilitating Committee accepts its recommendations and proceeds to notify potential Inductees, acquire acceptance, request a photograph for the Footprints of Life publication and apprise the Inductees of the personal expectations regarding the Induction Ceremony.

While a nomination form formally declares a nominee, a suitable introductory letter is totally acceptable in its place.
